Theoretical fundamentals of high frequency engineering
This lecture continues the field theoretical basics from EMF1 and applies these to common circuit components. It starts with transmission line theory which is then applied on multi line systems. Transiting with the n-port theory microwave circuits are explained. The tools of S-parameters and Smith-Charts are explained. Finally the microwave behaviour of active compontens is introduced and illustrated using small-signal amplifiers as an example.
