Development of the world's first complete mMWave-5G connectivity chipset implemented in a single-chip solution.
SECURITAS-5G aims to develop a complete mmWave-5G capable, cost-effective, energy-efficient connectivity chipset, which will be the world’s first such chipset which is implemented as a single-chip solution. By integrating the chipset components (baseband processor, DAC/ADC, front-end) onto a single chip, vulnerability to unauthorised access at the hardware level is significantly reduced and security is enhanced. At the same time, the chip will be inexpensive to manufacture, to integrate with end products and to operate. In addition, the technology to be developed has the potential to contribute significantly to the establishment of mmWave-5G mobile communication and thus concomitantly to the use of advanced and more secure communication protocols that require high-performance communication technology. The implementation as a single-chip solution is made possible by a groundbreaking innovation for the DAC/ADC component. It was invented by the project coordinator InCirT and is already patented in the most important markets worldwide. The project is supported by the RWTH Aachen University (Chair ofHigh Frequency Electronics) as a project partner.
Our vision is that the next generation of 5G, mmWave-5G, will set new standards not only in terms of its performance parameters such as data rate or latency. It should also raise communication security to a new level.
In Securitas-5G, we will develop hardware technologies that achieve an unprecedented level of integration, significantly reducing vulnerability to unauthorised access at the hardware level. Furthermore, this technology will enable the rapid deployment of mmWave-5G and thus the use of advanced and secure communication protocols.
We aim to develop a complete, mmWave-5G capable, cost-effective, energy-efficient connectivity chipset, which will be the world’s first such chipset which is implemented as a single-chip solution. As a final result, we are aiming for a functioning demonstrator of a communication link.
The developed technology will increase resilience and security of communication networks. Thanks to implementation in low-cost, easy-to-implement 22nm CMOS semiconductor technology, market entry barriers will be reduced. In addition, the national manufacturer ecosystem for modern network technology in the context of IT security will be strengthened.

InCirT is a deep-tech start-up which develops and sells DAC / ADC solutions for use in high performance wireless communication systems such as mmWave-5G, 6G or future WiFi standards. InCirT's breakthrough technology enables up to 100x higher data transfer rates and up to 10x higher energy efficiency than current state of the art. On top of that, InCirT's solutions do not rely on extremely scaled semiconductor technologies to achieve this performance. InCirT was founded in early 2022 after more than 7 years of research by a team of highly experienced electrical engineers and an expert for finance and business development.
